Spartan Bhangra:
"Bhangra" is a folk dance from a region of India known as Punjab. Originally used as a colorful, cheerful method of celebrating the annual harvest in Punjab, Bhangra has since then come to the United States and merged with hip-hop, jazz, and other American dance forms. Spartan Bhangra began seven years ago as a group of students spreading Punjabi culture to the local community through dance. Today they perform regularly at weddings, festivals, and national competitions. Ranging from every ethnicity and every region of the continent, each member brings a unique and festive vibe to the team. Last year, they performed at five national competitions in five different states and placed first in the nation for the first time ever. Today, they are here to bring you a small taste of India!
