Arab American National Museum says
47SOUL, comprised of unique and talented Palestinian musicians, will be performing at the AANM in their U.S. debut tour! 47SOUL's performance is in conjunction with the Arab Film Festival (full schedule at: www.cinetopiafestival.org - select Arab Film Festival under the "category" tab).

47SOUL is an electro-mijwez, shamstep, choubi band. Their lyrics, mixing Arabic and English, call for celebration and freedom in the struggle for equality, inside Bilad Al Sham (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan) and throughout the world.

Their sound is rooted in Arabic debkah, a traditional line dance done in many parts of the Bilad Al Sham area. The electronic and urban influence in their music takes them far out of the ‘world music’ context and places them in the genre of a new generation of international electronic/hip hop acts that are reinventing the old for the future. This new sound of 47SOUL is called "ShamStep."
