André Uhl & Simon Alexander Adams says

André Uhl is a musician and futurist born in Essen and based in Berlin. André merges synthesizer lines and noise converging them into dark, driving and cinematic pieces of music. His productions combine detailed and spatial audio design with simple, yet haunting melodies. André holds a master’s degree in futures research, a fact that reflects in his compositions and leaves traces in his sound: tales of the hazy past and the twilight of the future.

André's last EP Under a Swollen Silver Moon has been released on Detroit Underground Records. His collaboration with New Zealand video artist Jem the Misfit, the eerily engaging and fully synchronized Creatures live AV show, was selected in 2015 for the renowned Mapping Festival in Geneva.

During his time at Spread Art André has been working on a new live performance including songs from his upcoming debut album. On 26th May André will be presenting his new show and the result of his month-long Detroit artist residency.

Simon Alexander-Adams is a Detroit based multimedia artist, musician and designer, working within the intersection of art and technology. He performs frequently on keyboard and electronics with the glitch-electronic avant-rock band Saajtak, and has composed music for a number of short films, animations, theatrical and dance performances.

Simon has also directed multimedia performances that enable connections between sonic, visual and kinetic forms, designed new interfaces for musical expression, and produced interactive installation art. His work has been performed at international festivals, including the Ann Arbor Film Festival and Cinetopia.

For his performance at Spread Art Simon will show a solo electronic music performance involving live looping and processing of toy sampler keyboards, and small noisemakers.
