Join us for a conversation about the famous (and notorious) "Pop-up." If you're growing a small food business, or any business for that matter, in Detroit, you're probably pretty familiar with the term. Maybe you've participated in a number of your own pop-ups as well.

Pop-ups are certainly a useful part of starting up -- they provide a promotional opportunity, a platform to share your brand and product, a venue for feedback and market validation, lower-cost selling opportunities, face-to-face customer interaction. But what is your strategy? It's easy to start doing pop-ups and then get lost in the hustle of going from event to event to event without pausing to evaluate and ask yourself big-picture questions.

Why are you "chasing" pop-ups? Are pop-ups sustainable for your business? Are you making progress toward the future vision of your business? What's your return on investment? What are your intentions and what trade-offs are you making?

We'll dig into these questions and more on Monday night. Come to talk and connect to other good food entrepreneurs and advocates in the city!
