Arab American National Museum says
The Arab American National Museum (AANM) cordially invites you to join us for this year’s Arab Film Festival, taking place June 5th-14th. This year’s film festival is bigger and better than ever! To commemorate the AANM’s 10th Anniversary year (May 5, 2015-May 5, 2016), we’ve merged our festival with Cinetopia International Film Festival – a festival inside of a festival!

This year’s festival is a standout! Many of the eight films in the Arab Film Festival are making their Michigan premiere and several, their U.S. premiere! For a list of all films, see here: Tickets on sale now for museum members/on sale for non-members on May 22nd.

Opening the Cinetopia Film Festival is the Salma Hayek produced, “Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet,” which celebrates the life and work of famous Lebanese poet/philosopher/artist, Kahlil Gibran. The Arab Film Festival brings you this beautifully done and inspiring film ahead of its U.S. release!

We are also pleased to have the extraordinary film, “May MAY in the SUMMER” directed by Cherien Dabis, as part of our film festival! Cherien directs and stars in this dramedy as May, who seemingly has the perfect life and is set to marry her loving fiance’ Ziad. May heads to her hometown of Amman, where things start to unravel. Facing opposition to her marriage from her mother (Hiam Abbass) and dealing with the wounds of her parent’s broken relationship, May questions what she really wants in life. After the film, we’ll be doing a SKYPE interview with director Cherien Dabis!

We hope you'll join us!
