Time Out says

The practice of Authentic Movement invites us to enter in to a lived experience of our bodies; to explore the sensations, imagery, feelings, memories and the bold new possibilities that arise as we allow our bodies to speak. As witnesses to one another we offer our full attention while observing our own, internal experience; we strive to create a mindful, respectful, and compassionate space in which all might explore. Offered as a seven-week series, meeting 3/22-5/10 (no class 4/26). Participants should plan to attend most of the classes in order to create a strong container -- think, at least 4 or 5 out of 7.... At Light Box -- 8641 Linwood St. Detroit 48206 The building still says it's the Greater New Light Missionary Baptist Church -- but don't let that fool you! ;) Sliding scale $90-125 for seven-week series Classes will include guided warm-ups drawing on Experiential Anatomy and other somatic investigations; exploration of moving and witnessing in Authentic Movement practice; structures for listening and responding through our bodies; and further reflection through art materials. The series and practice serve to support us in enhancing our artistic/creative process; to provide a centering, meditative framework; to create opportunities for personal insight and interpersonal connection; and to illuminate a sense of the vital and wise nature of our bodies.
