Black Seed: The Birth Rite says
Due to weather, Black Seed: The Birth Rite will happen tomorrow (Sunday) 6am - 6pm. Be with us tomorrow.
We will be holding space today at Spread Art @ Detroit Contemporary.

We are planning a public (community based) ritual – to signify the awakening of the spirit of revolution. We are calling forth, ALL, black conjurers (artist, actionist, activist, organizers, organizations and others). The work – involving a series of stages and actions, e.g., planting, gestation, and birth – will unfold over the course of a, 12 hour, durational period. Whereby we, through a unified participatory action, will conjure a collective consciousness towards the manifestation of Black Liberation through nationhood. This ritualistic action will mark the inception of a larger vision – BLACK SEED MOVEMENT.

Schedule of activities:

These activities take place at Spread Art at Detroit Contemporary
