The global musical expat will honor Paradise Valley's
"Queen of the Blues" Alberta Adams

More than just granting a rare performance, international vocalist Lily Adams is returning home to Detroit to delve into her roots and pay musical homage to one of the city's legendary blues icons - who also happens to be her aunt.

The influences of her aunt, Alberta Adams, were strong for Lily starting at a young age. A performer for 70 years before her death in 2014 at the age of 97, Alberta Adams placed an indelible stamp on Detroit's rich musical heritage throughout Paradise Valley clubs in the 1950's including a recording deal with the iconic Chess Records.

Now a citizen living in Nuremburg, Germany, Lily Adams represents Detroit in every note, notching well-received performances in Europe, Asia and the Mediterranean for more than 25 years. When the revival of Paradise Valley began to happen, the accomplished pianist and songwriter knew it was time to do more than visit her extended family here, she needed to give back.

"Beatrice Buck Park (in the new Paradise Valley) was dedicated to my aunt and several key musicians and artists who have upheld the spirit of the blues as only Detroiters can," said Adams. "We will be delving into the richness of that soil, and planting some fresh roots with a new generation, starting with Zoe."

Tickets for Blues Night are $15, available at the door.
