This weekend on Saturday and Sunday the U.I.O. non-profit is hosting a mandatory cooperative work day for residents of our space and is open to volunteers who want to just help out or get more involved with our grassroots movement in Detroit !
Free Pizza (and joints) will be provided by resident/members of the U.I.O. including motivational sounds DJ-ing by a variety of our volunteers from Fireweed Universe City and the U.I.O. !
The Universe Building is a community center / project space to develop cooperative behavior. Open to intentional community involvement through volunteer grassroots organizing & consensus building to encourage local independence & opportunity for our one human family.
Our main focus as of now is restoration work the building of 1 East Montana Street into a cooperative space for artists, vendors, musicians, writers, and volunteers for opening a cafe, upcyclery & restore shop, and much more !
Come join us EVERY Saturday at Noon to and lend a hand. There's is plenty to help us with ALL the time. There will be music being played from the turn tables and volunteer meals.
