Detroit Eviction Defense Fund Raiser For Daniel Murray says
The Detroit Land Bank demolished Daniel Murray's home while he still occuped it! (See the "before" and "after" photo above.) The house, at 15745 Quincy, had been in the Murray family since 1961. In May 2016, the Detroit Land Bank threw all of Daniel’s belongings (medicine, clothing, family pictures, and heirlooms) into a dumpster, and two months later tore down the entire structure -- the home he'd grown up in. He had no idea that his house had even been transferred to the Land Bank when he was first evicted and then his home destroyed.

How can you help?

Daniel is fighting back, though, along with Detroit Eviction Defense, and through a legal case against the Land Bank. Proceeds from this fund-raiser will go toward legal fees.

Join Detroit Eviction Defense and Daniel for dinner, entertainment, and neighborly conversation. Suggested donation $10, but no one will be turned away -- and larger donations are greatly appreciated!

Enter GESU at Quincy near the corner of W. McNichols Avenue, across from the University of Detroit and two blocks east of Livernois. Parking, in the back, is free.
