Join Hands On at Hatch Art for a wonderful and exciting summer art camp! Every day your child will focus on making different projects led by local professional artists! Age appropriate projects will range from 2-D, 3-D, Sound, Video and Performance art!

Monday - Friday!
9am-12pm - Ages 5-9
1pm - 3pm - Ages 10-15

$200 per week for the first child, $100 per week for the second child... buddy up! You child does not have to be related to the second and you can split the buddy system with different age groups. You can sign up for the whole week or a day at a time!

Hands On at Hatch Art: Summer Art Camp! can be registered by per day or by per week! Ages 5-9 will have camp from 9am - 12pm and ages 10-15 will have camp from 1pm - 4pm, starting June 20th and ending August 26th.

Week 1: All About Paper with Alice V Schneider
June 20th – June 24th

Overview: Pa Pa Pa Paper!
Learn how to make paper and artwork out of paper.
During week one students will get an introduction into paper! All projects this week will be focused on using, making and utilize paper in a nontraditional way! Students will also be working on a week long project!

Day One: What is Paper?
Students will learn what paper is made of and learn how to make it from scratch. Both younger and older students are encouraged to bring in fun bits (ribbon, other paper, fruit peels, leaves, flowers & cloth) that they could include! This will also be used as a sketch book day.

Day Two: Dying Paper!
Students will learn various techniques to dye paper, students will be encouraged to bring in something if they think it will release a color or pattern.

Day Three: Playing with Paper!
Students will use and learn different techniques to make non-representational artwork from paper, such as tissue transfer, crumple, geometric form, etc.

Day Four: Paper Sculptures!
On day four students will make sculptures from paper pulp.

Day Five: Paper Mache Masks!
Students will finally be able to decorate their masks made out of paper mache! Students will be making these throughout the week, the process takes several days, needing a lot of dry time!
