With over 20 square miles of vacant land, Detroit has the opportunity to transform a vacant land liability into a multifunctional open space network. How can we use our open space to improve quality of life by providing food security, producing energy, cleaning the air we breathe, managing stormwater, providing places to bike, walk, and play, and improving our natural environment? Speakers from Detroit will discuss how this open space network could place Detroit in a unique position to become a global leader for urban sustainability and innovation.
