International Women's Day Moving Forward Thursday

All of these activities are FREE and open to EVERYONE. On Thursday, we will be hosting booths in the CAW Commons from 10am to 4pm on the theme of Moving Forward: This Is Not The End. Our first station, The Postcard Project, will consist of an option for participants to write a postcard on our special Womyn's Centre postcards. The premise of this is to write a postcard to a woman who has inspired you. Guests are encouraged to fill out the postcard and either give it to that woman or keep it with themselves as a reminder of this person's influence on their life. Our second station, A Promise to Myself, will be a digital storytelling station. Participants write down on a whiteboard a promise to themselves, and are photographed if they are comfortable doing so. If not, we will take a picture of the whiteboard promise. These photos will be made into a Facebook album to provide a digital element storytelling the different promises and commitments people have made moving forward. Finally, we will have a Women Through the Ages Jeopardy game booth. Winners will receive fabulous prizes! Thursday evening we will be having an International Women’s Day Film Festival to wrap up our events.
