Join us for our first movie continuing our Iranian feature. We have teamed up with Cinema Detroit to show a screening of Director Jafar Panahi's Offside.

In Offside (2006), a group of women ignore the ban on their gender attending soccer matches and dress as men so they can sneak into the World Cup match between Iran and Bahrain. Complications ensue as they are caught in the act. Made in Iran and subsequently banned there, Offside is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 97% rating.

Doors open at 4:00 p.m. for a sampling of traditional Iranian food, including appetizers, soup, desserts and tea followed by a movie start time of 5:30 p.m.

There will be a variety of food including vegetarian options. We encourage everyone to come, enjoy some food and socialize with some new people prior to the movie.

Hosted by Cinema Detroit & Peace Meal Kitchen.
