For the month of July, Drinks x Design will activate the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History with a celebration of diversity in design! Programming includes displays from architects that are working to enhance the quality of life and economic opportunity in Detroit. We are also honoring the legacy of Howard F. Sims, FAIA, founder of Sims Design Group, Michigan’s oldest minority-owned architecture firm. Confirmed organizations include:

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is located at 315 East Warren at Brush Street in Detroit Michigan, 48201, next to the Detroit Science Center and within one block of the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA).

From the South (Toledo)
I-75 North to Warren exit Left on Warren

From the North (Flint)
I-75 South to Warren exit Right on Warren

From the West (Chicago/Ann Arbor)
I-94 East to John R/Woodward exit Right on John R, Left on Warren

From the Northwest (Southfield)
Lodge (M-10) South Take the W. Forest exit Turn left on Woodard Right on Warren


Lighted, affordable and secure parking is available behind the museum at the Cultural Center parking lot for $7. (Enter from John R Street, a one-way street).

Metered parking is available on three sides of the museum on Warren Avenue, Brush Street, and Farnsworth Avenue.

Valet parking will be available for $10 at the E. Warren entrance.
