Join us on Thursday July 30th for the Artist in Residence performances. Marjia Krtolica (here on a one month residency from Philadelphia) will give a solo presentation (work in process on hysteria readings from Didi-Huberman, music piano pieces by Schoenberg) in the theater.

Magda Drozd and Vanessa Heer (Six week residency from Zurich) will present an installation, performative happening and there will also be a wacky language bar.
Details below:

no.01_silent riots of vulnerability
an installation

‘silent riots of vulnerability’ is a reflective work that broach the issue of our relations, interactions, the attempt to open ourself and to become vulnerable through the subjects, objects and space that are surrounding us. the piece evolved from a collective writing process. we have been sending sentences to each other via e-mail and responded to them. through our writing conversations, we've tried to play with the things that circulate between us, both visible and invisible.

no.02_ready to hang (out)
a performative happening
in collaboration with the HOSPIZ DER FAULHEIT (zurich)

we are not ready to hang but we are ready to hang out.

as artists and performer we are struggling with the necessity to produce work that is representative and ready to hang on walls in different institutions. furthermore we are asking the question how we behave and move within these institutions and their events. and what can we do, what kind of institution are possible in relation to the categories that inhabit us, and that we in turn inhabit. ‘ready to hang (out)’ is an interruption by creating a different space and time of how the audience is entering an exhibition space and how that could possibly change further movements and encounter. we are meeting ourselves on the same level by our merging bodies without making the difference between the performer/the artist and the audience. through intense moments we want to expose the force of habits as a state of exception, allowing a shift in perspective and an opening for transgression of movements and performativity.

no.03_wacky language bar
in collaboration with eli stevick and friends (ypsilanti)

after the showing of Marija Krtolica we are inviting everyone to join us in the garden at our wacky language bar. order a fancy drink in the garden while discovering a conscious performativity that release the attitude of our daily language and encounter. we are made vulnerable to the language systems which precede our coming into the economical and social structure, how we act and identify with others and ourselves. because these language systems guide and discipline our gender and other aspects of our lives before we are able to consciously resist. our method of creating a ‘different’ language uses our vulnerability as a position of strength rather than weakness. don't be afraid - you'll find a dictionary at the bar.
