An 8-week beginner yoga, meditation, and philosophy program for people suffering from anxiety, depression, stress, illness, and pain. The program is modeled on the world-famous Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Participants are guided by Gisele Harrison - a clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with people suffering from anxiety, stress, depression, trauma and chronic pain/illness.

The MBSR program provides participants with the structure and support to: Improves inner and outer balance / Quiet the mind/ Find meaning & purpose in living / Improve many medical conditions / Manage pain and suffering / Navigate life’s transitions / Enhance coping skills / Increase strength and flexibility / Reduce cortisol levels / Improve Sleep / Improve self-esteem and Self—Awareness / Lower blood pressure & heart rate

The 8-week program includes: group discussion, meditation, gentle yoga adapted to ability, and a commitment from participants to complete daily homework assignments.

Date: Tuesday, March 24 - May 12
Time: 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Retreat: 1-Day Silent Meditation 10-4pm on Saturday May 9 @ Breathe Pilates & Fitness Studio (lunch not included)

Cost: $14.11/hour for a total of $395 includes 28 hours of program time + meditation cd) or $550 includes 2 individual counselling sessions (valued at $220), 28 hours of program time + meditation cd).

Extended health benefits covering counselling with a registered social worker MSW may cover some of the costs.

MBSR participants can also purchase a reduced 8 week unlimited membership to Breathe Pilates & Breathe Pilates.

Members of Breathe Pilates & Fitness, patients and clients of Nguyen Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Centre, Sol Invictus and Christine Coral will save $75 on their registration.
