Cranbrook Art Museum says
Don’t miss the chance to see Nick Cave’s soundsuits in action during a series of live performances in the city of Detroit. Cave has partnered with local dancers and musicians, and given each group a “box” of supplies they will use to create a live performance. All performances are FREE and open to the public.

The SECOND performance will be held at the Dequindre Cut (under the East Lafayette overpass) and will be choreographed by Biba Bell with music by Frank Pahl.

The Dequindre Cut is a below-level greenway that runs parallel to St. Aubin Street, between Mack Avenue and Woodbridge Street just north of the riverfront in Detroit. The performance site can be accessed most directly via the pedestrian ramp at East Lafayette and St. Aubin, but you are welcome to enter the Cut from either end (Gratiot near Eastern Market, or Woodbridge Street near the outdoor Adventure Center / the Riverfront). Feel free to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Rain or shine!

Special thanks to event partner Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD)for helping to organize the events and provide open rehearsal space. And thanks to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy for their help!
