Nlg Mideast Regional 2015

As you know, for over 75 years, the National Lawyers Guild has functioned as an effective force in the service of the people "to the end that human rights shall be regarded as more sacred than property interests." From Friday, March 20, through Sunday, March 22, 2015, our regional conference will bring together lawyers, legal workers, community leaders, and students, hailing from Detroit to Buffalo. to learn about pressing legal issues in our region and to foster discussion about how to best use the law as an instrument for the protection of the people, rather than for their repression. We'd like to extend an invitation to all NLG members in the region to propose workshops and panels relevant to the Guild's work and current struggles. To propose a workshop or panel, please email mideastrvp@nlg.org as soon as possible with the proposed topic, a brief description of the workshop or panel, and a list of proposed speakers. Panels and workshop slots are being filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We are also welcoming recommendations for speakers on a variety of legal topics who are based in the greater Detroit area or are willing to travel. The deadline for panel proposals is January 2, 2015. Please send all proposals and materials to mideastrvp@nlg.org.
