Wayne State University presents PR Tips for Creatives at Ponyride on November 16

Co-founder of the Allen Lewis Agency and WSU Alumna Jocelyn K. Allen is the featured speaker on Monday, Nov. 16 at The Business of Art @ Ponyride. This event is part of Wayne State University’s ongoing speaker series presented by the Alumni Office of the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Ponyride.

Allen is a marketing and communications expert and prior to opening an agency she served as the Director of Regional, Grassroots, and Diversity Communications, and Director of the company's Diversity Marketing and Communications Center of Excellence at General Motors. She leveraged her relationship building abilities to grow relationships with organizations and events such as the Essence Music Festival, the Trumpet Awards, the Stellar Awards, CAAMFest, Black Girls Rock! and the American Black Film Festival. She has also served as Vice President of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications for OnStar, where she led internal and external communications efforts including the launch of OnStar in China. As Manager of Global Broadcast Media Relations, Allen played a crucial role in helping GM shift its communications mindset to storytelling among media outlets beyond print media. Now, she is bringing her expertise to WSU Alumni.
