It is the aim of Radical Sounds Detroit to nurture experimental music in the city of Detroit.

The lineup for Radical Sounds Detroit:

Mark Kirschenmann: Revolutionary electro-acoustic trumpeter and improvisation guru. Longtime professor of radical approaches to music, his influence is vast as it is diverse.

Hasan Abdur- Razzaq/Anthony Poretti: Fire breathing saxophonist from Columbus, OH meets ferocious percussionist. An early associate of the Ayler family, Hassan Abdur-Razzaq is a Midwest heavyweight. Anthony Poretti is a hard hitting and relentless free jazz percussionist who resides on the East Side of Detroit.

Joo Won Park: A recent addition to Wayne State's music faculty. Joo Won has been an electronic music advocate for years, including an influential teaching position at Oberlin. Is a frequent collaborator with avant music luminaries, and strives to make everyday sound beautiful and strange. His vast publications belie his radical spirit.

Theresa Wong: Cellist and composer from San Francisco, her cutting edge work with such artists as Fred Frith and Ellen Fullman are legendary. Her material on John Zorn's Tzadik label is a fearless blending of classical and avant sensibilities. Theresa is a Radical Sounds Detroit artist in residence.
