Urukurubụba says
ONE Mile is proud to present Urukurubụba, an ephemeral gallery exhibit and sale of wearable art by Detroit cult designer Nneka Jackson.

Nneka’s custom creations are both regal and empowering, bringing together mythical flash with whimsical futurism. Her embellished aggregates, taking the form of hybridized crowns, wings, masks, and other astonishing corporal ornaments, are inspired by legends, butterflies, intangible legacies and above all a deep awareness of beauty.

Urukurubụba, or butterfly in Igbo, reminds us of the magical appeal of transience. Nneka’s work will be on display and available for purchase at the Bureau of Emergent Urbanity for one day only - not to be missed.
