If you’re looking for an active way to spend your Saturday (11 July 2026) out in nature, this is for you!
The beautiful Lake Eland Game Reserve on the KZN South Coast is playing host to the Lake Eland Extreme MTB Race as part of the popular South Coast Adrenaline Series.
This popular annual event attracts mountain bikers from across KZN to tackle flowing single track, fast descents and spectacular gravel routes. It doesn’t matter if you're a seasoned rider or just keen for a fun challenge - there are three race distances to choose from: 20km, 40km and 60km routes.
A massive highlight is that you pedal through the reserve surrounded by epic African scenery, open grasslands and wildlife, with antelope often spotted along the route and majestic fish eagles soaring overhead.

Fun for the whole family
But it's not just about the racing.
Families can come spend the day at Lake Eland, with plenty happening off the trails too. You can look forward to:
- Giant jumping castles
- A large children's play area
- Live DJ entertainment
- Food stalls
- Competitions and giveaways
- Halfway Ford vehicle displays, test drives and exciting 4x4 experiences
"We're looking forward to welcoming riders from across the province to experience one of the most beautiful mountain biking venues in KwaZulu-Natal," says event organiser Anesh Sooklal. "With fantastic weather forecast, an incredible venue and a vibrant festival atmosphere, it's set to be an unforgettable day for competitors and spectators alike."
