Time Out says

The foundations of Antaviana: quality, fair-trade and local products.

At Antaviana they focus on local food, or km0, as it's known locally. They proudly show off their Slow Food Catalunya sticker, which recognises that they use quality, fair-trade, local ingredients. Good, clean and fair. These are the bases that they take into account when choosing the products for their menu. They buy from farmers in the area, while the fish comes from the Empordà coast. Antaviana is an ideal place to go for supper and sharing a variety of smaller dishes among friends. If that's not quite enough, you can order one of their mains, such as carpaccio of foie gras (a classic that they've had on the menu for some years), cod cheeks cooked with pil-pil sauce (a Basque creation), and boned pig's trotters stuffed with mushrooms and black sausage. Their wine list features 230 varieties, the majority of which are from the Empordà and other Catalan protected denominations, as well as up-and-coming Spanish regions such as Cadiz and Méntrida. At lunchtimes they have a reasonably priced set menu.
