Among their specialities you'll find soupy rice with lobster and cuttlefish, one of crabs amd mushrooms, of lobster, of crab, of cuttlefish and of mushrooms.

Proof, if it were needed, that to eat good rice dishes you don't have to be anywhere near the sea. At Can Badó, located in the capital of the Alt Empordà region and half an hour from the beach, they make great rice along with the best of them. Indeed, they're the speciality of the house and the list of varieties on offer is impressive: stewy rice with lobster and cuttlefish; with crabs and mushrooms; lobster; crabs; cuttlefish, mushrooms and scallops; and lobster stew. But that's by no means all. They also do a dry rice dish with artichokes, cuttlefish and mushrooms, and a soupy one with rabbit, snails and artichokes. There's also a more 'foreign' version: risotto with vegetables, Torta del Casar cheese and truffle. If you want to save money or prefer to eat at home, they make dishes to take away. During the week, there's a set lunch menu that's well put together and reasonably priced.
