An exhibition exploring the vital but controversial role Clyde-built ships played in running the naval blockade of the Confederacy during the American Civil War. Glasgow’s ship builders benefited greatly from new orders of sleek paddle-steamers, but many Glaswegians opposed trading with the slave holding Confederacy.
