Christmas Lights Switch On

Something of a hot-button issue among Glasgow citizens, the annual switching on of the Christmas Lights is so popular that successfully grabbing tickets (either by the officially organised lottery system or by more nefarious means) has become a traditional winter sport. (By way of an example, the capacity for the event is 13,191 - this year over 266,000 tickets were requested.) For those who succeed though, the moment when George Square bursts into colour is when Christmas truly begins.
