Kalesma is one of Mykonos’ most stylish stays – a hilltop retreat overlooking yacht-dotted Ornos Bay, just a short drive from Chora’s boutiques, tavernas and cobbled streets. The design is Cycladic chic: sugar-cube suites scattered along a winding road, framed by prickly pears and palms, with sweeping sea views that glow gold at sunset.

The 46 rooms and suites are divided across two levels, each centred on its own infinity pool. Interiors, designed by Athens’ Studio Bonarchi, mix natural textures with high-tech touches: chunky stools, tweed cushions, pitted marble tables, and vast TV screens hidden behind mirrors. Upper-floor rooms offer panoramic views; lower-level rooms add alfresco hot tubs. The 27 sea-view suites are closer to private villas, with courtyards, outdoor showers and terraces with infinity pools. Bathrooms are vast with sunken tubs and Frederic Malle products, while Sonos systems and even in-room fitness gear add a modern edge. The only gripe? Complex lighting controls.

Food is refined but unfussy. Breakfast includes croissants, bagels, acai bowls and eggs cooked in sheep’s butter. Smoothies, organic produce and healthy options abound. By night, Pere Ubu serves reimagined Greek cuisine – think saganaki-topped salads or a gourmet gyros. Down by the lower pool, Kuveda’s daily chalkboard menu of burgers, grilled octopus, and fresh pita with tarama encourages sharing. Portions are generous. With 85 staff for 46 rooms, service is polished from the lemonade welcome to seamless dining. Facilities include two infinity pools, a compact gym, and a serene spa offering Barbara Sturm treatments – one of the highlights. There are also cultural touches, like workshops in traditional weaving. Kalesma balances seclusion with easy access to nightlife and excursions, including cruises to Delos, and a whole lot more.

Time Out tip: You’re in the middle of two cracking beaches here. Head to Ornos for busy, family-friendly vibes, and Corfos for activities like wind and kite surfing.

Address: Aleomandra, 84600, Mykonos, Greece

Price: Starting from around €427 per night

Kove Mykonos is a whitewashed, adults-only retreat perched above Ornos Beach, once part of the Kensho brand and now under the family-run Myconian Collection. With 14 hotels across the island, the Collection is known for style and warm service – here you’ll also get complimentary beach beds on Ornos’ golden sands, a real perk given prices often top €30 per person. This 35-room hideaway is anything but quiet – music, chatter and DJ sets keep the atmosphere buzzing from check-in to sundown. Days are spent lazing by the main pool, swinging in basket chairs on the rooftop, or soaking up the scene at Ornos Beach. Nights bring cocktails and beats either poolside or down on the sand.

Rooms, spread across five floors around the central heated pool, feature quirky handcrafted furniture, chunky stools, and showers in the middle of the space. Standard rooms are compact with no balconies, so best suited for those who’ll spend time outside. Deluxe suites add whirlpool baths or plunge pools, while the top Infinity suites boast panoramic views and private pools. Local touches include complimentary Muscat wine and loukoum sweets. Only a few rooms have sea views, so request in advance.

Food is solid, and breakfast includes creamy local yoghurt, baklava, spanakopita, and spoon sweets, and restaurant staff are fantastic. Facilities include two pools (one rooftop with great sunset views), a small but stylish spa with hammam and grotto pool, and a well-equipped gym. Treatments range from facials with Augustinus Bader products to massages and spa packages. Close to Ornos’ lively nightlife and just ten minutes from Mykonos Town and Psarou, Kove is best for social travellers looking for a glamorous, Instagram-ready base.

Time Out tip: One of the hotel’s biggest perks is the free sun lounger you get on Ornos Beach as a guest (these would normally be €30 or more per person!).

Address: Ornos, 84600, Mykonos, Greece.

Price per night: Starting from €268 per night

Closest transport: Mykonos airport is four kilometres away – the hotel can arrange your transfer. KTEL buses that run between Chora and many of the best-known beaches.

Anemelia takes its name from the Greek word for ‘carefree’ – fitting for a boutique retreat perched above Elia Beach, where Mykonos’ famous breezes roll in from the Aegean. Owned by a family from Naxos, the hotel makes the most of the island’s produce, ferrying over creamy yoghurts, cheeses, and ripe tomatoes for its restaurant. Unlike the glitzy scene at Ornos and Psarou, Anemelia offers a quieter corner of Mykonos, with just 20 rooms and a laid-back, family-style welcome. Here the soundtrack is more likely to be birdsong and wind through palms than thumping basslines.

Rooms are airy, minimalist spaces: pale walls, sisal-fronted cupboards, slim wooden desks, squashy low sofas and generous bathrooms stocked with Apivita products. King-size beds encourage languid mornings, while terraces are ideal for stargazing. Smaller Cocoon suites suit outdoorsy types, while larger rooms add plunge pools, and the Grande Sea View Suite has its own private pool. Food reflects its Naxian roots: breakfasts of vine leaf dolmades, sheep’s yoghurt with nuts and fruit, and Kimolos-style ladenia are served on a terrace overlooking the sea. Lunch brings souvlaki, meze spreads and Greek salads brimming with flavour, while dinners reinvent classics – shrimp linguine in ouzo bisque, or beef pasticcio with lemony béchamel.

Service is eager and friendly, and the main pool sits near the restaurant with hillside and sea views. A compact spa doubles as a gym, with paid access to a heated pool and treatments from facials to massages. The setting is peaceful rather than pretty, with scrubby hillsides and construction nearby, though Elia Beach is under a kilometre away by foot or shuttle. For those after a tranquil base with good food, thoughtful comforts and easy beach access, Anemelia is a refreshing escape.

Time Out tip: Bare in mind that access to the heated spa pool isn’t included, costing €60 for 30 minutes.

Address: Elia, Ano Mera, 84600, Mykonos, Greece.

Price per night: Starting from €427 per night

Closest transport: Mykonos airport is nine kilometres away – the hotel can arrange your transfer. KTEL buses run between Chora and many of the best-known beaches.

4. Boheme Mykonos

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

Boheme is a fabulous luxury addition to the hotels of Mykonos Town (one of the best areas to stay in Mykonos) and a relatively new one at that, but what it lacks in history, it more than makes up for in luxurious comforts and stunning sea views. The decor is, fittingly, inspired by the colours of the Aegean sea, which can be viewed from various balconies, terraces and, of course, the rooftop pool. Loosely speaking, the aesthetic here is upmarket minimalism, but you’ll find a few bold additions such as twisted rope lights, bridging the divide between industrial sophistication and artistic flair.

The location is second to none, just a short walk from the heart of the action and the iconic windmills that take pride of place in any Mykonos photo album worth its salt. There are only 27 suites available at Boheme, but it is absolutely a triumph of quality over quantity. All the suites come with sea views, and while the standard and superior suites are more than enough to tick most boxes, the utter splendour of the Bohemian and Grand Bohemian suites almost beggars belief. We’re talking outdoor heated plunge pools, that sort of splendour. If you’re looking for the ultimate romantic getaway in Mykonos, look no further.

Food and drink at Boheme are taken care of by the Bilo Restaurant and its namesake bar. Bilo serves up authentic Greek dishes using fresh ingredients and recipes that have sated hunger on Mykonos for generations. The restaurant is dedicated to supporting local producers, ensuring a freshness that is evident in every bite. Continuing the theme of romance, you won’t find a more charming spot for dinner than Bilo at sunset. Bilo Bar holds up its end of the bargain, bringing together quality spirits and handpicked herbs to create some spectacular cocktails. Do the views accentuate the taste? You be the judge.

Time Out tip: It should go without saying, but end your day sipping cocktails at sunset by the pool. It really doesn’t get much better than that.

Price: From approximately €372 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

5. Nissaki Boutique Hotel

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

This glorious ocean-inspired hotel deserves all five stars of its rating. Glass-walled interiors combine a classic, nautical feel for a modern take on an Ancient Greek ideal. If that sounds a little too poetic, take our word for it that it might just be an understatement. The standard double rooms are delightful enough, fusing modern conveniences and high-quality amenities with gorgeous sea views and an undeniable sense of calm. However, those with bigger budgets should make a beeline for the Simple Life Suite, if only for the outdoor jacuzzi. Mykonos might seem like an exercise in serenity, but it is ramped up a notch when you’re sitting in a jacuzzi watching the sun go down. Without stating the obvious, there are no bad options here.

Water babies will love its location between the bays of Platis Gialos and Psarou, not to mention the hotel’s swimming pools surrounded by day beds. If Mykonos is on the bucket list, a day lounging by the pool needs to feature high up on the list of things to do. The pool bar is on hand to provide refreshment throughout your stay, whether you prefer your sun-lounging fuelled by fruit cocktails or colourful beverages of a harder sort.

The on-site Phos Restaurant also takes full advantage of the hotel’s spectacular location, serving Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with the sea in full view. The wine selection is particularly impressive, and the restaurant hosts frequent tasting events for guests to embrace their inner oenophile. If you’re unsure which wine to pair with your meal, don’t hesitate to ask the staff, and they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction. Nissaki Boutique Hotel doesn’t skimp on wellness, offering a range of excellent massages in an atmosphere specifically designed to promote physical harmony.

Time Out tip: Make the most of the location and enjoy a short stroll to Platis Gialos beach.

Address: Platis Yialos, 846 00 Mykonos, Greece

Price: From approximately €194 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

6. Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

Mykonos Grand Hotel and Resort promises that its guests will ‘discover the elegance of a luxury hotel,’ and we aren’t about to disagree. Just uphill from the peaceful sandy bay of Agios Ioánnis, famous for its role in the rom-com Shirley Valentine, this ultra-luxe resort has alluring Aegean views from its poolside cabana beds. Staggering down the hillside, the low-rise, whitewashed hotel stays true to Cycladic architectural traditions, with uber-stylish rooms in Greek marble and a palette of blues and whites. The 96 rooms and suites are all charming, elegant, and meticulously designed, featuring comfortable beds and modern conveniences throughout. The Mykonos Grand unsurprisingly takes the cake and is an exercise in opulence that can’t be beaten. It comes with four bedrooms, a rooftop pool, a fire pit, and private courtyards. Need we say more?

Service at the Mykonos Grand Hotel is impeccable, as are the facilities: from the private beach to the gym and yoga classes to the Altea spa offering all-natural treatments, this place is practically faultless. The services in the spa are fantastic, from the highly professional (and completely invigorating) massages to the well-equipped gym, perfect for getting a workout in before diving headfirst into the serenity of Mykonos.

Contemporary Greek cuisine is available at the fantastic Nama Restaurant, the hotel’s eatery, which takes its name from a sweet wine integral to the nation’s spiritual heritage. The menu focuses on allowing fresh as fresh local products the room to shine, letting the ingredients do the work (accentuated by sumptuous techniques in the kitchen), and the wine cellar is a treasure trove of excellent wines from near and far. The views are fabulous, and the interior design makes for a tremendous dining spot when the weather isn’t cooperating. Of course, this is Mykonos, and the weather is almost always cooperating.

Time Out tip: Spend some serious time at the hotel’s private beach. If you can spend a lifetime there, that would be even better.

Address: Ayios Yiannis, Mykonos, 84600, Greece

Price: From approximately €295 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

7. Mykonos Waves in Ornos

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

Look at a map of Mykonos, and you’ll see a thumbprint-like indentation on the southwest coast, which creates a natural funnel for wind and waves. Hence the name of this little beach house, making the most of the surf. The whitewashed rooms, with rustic wood and woven basket lights, are deliberately understated, allowing the sea views to take centre stage. The vistas across Korfos Bay are beautiful, an understatement if ever there was one. The superior rooms are small but perfectly formed, while the sea view suites offer homely comforts in an otherworldly setting. If you want something a little more opulent, the beach house with an outdoor jacuzzi is the way to go.

Mykonos Waves ticks all the boxes you’d expect from a high-quality accommodation option on the island, and while it doesn’t take the luxury amenities as far as other resorts here, it really doesn’t need to. This is a place to stay to make the most of your time in Mykonos, with an unbeatable location that allows you to explore the island and return to rest up when needed. In many ways, there is an old-fashioned quality to Mykonos Waves that has been lost by modernised hotels. Here, personality and hospitality take precedence over glitzy amenities and ostentatious design. When you are staying in a part of the world as beautiful as this, let it do the heavy lifting.

Simplicity and comfort are king here, although there are plenty of adrenaline-heavy activities waiting nearby. The beautiful Korfos Beach is a popular place for kitesurfing, one that somehow manages to attract attention while remaining relatively unspoiled. The hotel offers kitesurfing lessons if you are interested in picking up the basics while here, although you are just as welcome to spend your days lounging by the infinity pool. It’s hard to resist, right?

Time Out tip: Breakfast baskets are provided on request

Address: Korfos Beach, Ornos, 84600, Mykonos, Greece

Price: From approximately €186 per night based on two people sharing

Closest transport: Mykonos International Airport is a 10-minute drive away

8. Mykonos Blu

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

Coiled around its breathtaking infinity pool, built on two levels and surrounded by gently waving palm trees, this ultra-luxurious Cycladic style resort overlooks Psarou’s golden sand-lined bay. Just steps away from the ritzy Nammos beach club, there are 103 light-filled bungalows and suites - some with private pools - and a handful of exclusive waterfront villas linked by flower-lined paths to the resort’s sculpture-studded public areas. If it sounds straight out of a dream, you aren’t mistaken. No expense has been spared in ensuring the bungalows are picture-perfect for an idyllic Greek island getaway, no matter whether you stay in the smaller Island Bungalow or the sizeable Grand Blu Suite. It isn’t called “grand” without reason, we assure you.

The hotel offers several food and drink options, all serving seasonal dishes sourced from Grecotel’s Agreco Farm. The setting for breakfast is delightful, just about as perfect a spot for starting the day as you'll find on the island. If you would rather dine in the spectacular surroundings of your bungalow, a private dining experience is available, complete with tailored menus, music, and an attention to detail that is positively delicious. Private dining is also available if you are searching for serenity with your dinner.

Speaking of serenity, the Elixir Wellness Centre is the dictionary definition of the stuff, a beautiful spot to unwind and let your bones and brain relax after a hard day of sunbathing and sightseeing. The treatments are enhanced by Maroc Maroc products (always a sign of quality), and there are pools seemingly at every turn, providing that classic Mykonos vacation experience. Mykonos Blu is particularly popular with couples searching for a dreamlike wedding venue, and you don’t need to be on the guest list to understand why. This place is straight out of a romantic fairytale.

Time Out tip: The resort goes out of its way to accommodate specific dietary requirements, but be sure to notify them in advance.

Address: Psarou, Mykonos, 84600, Greece

Price: From approximately €356 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

9. Petasos Beach Resort and Spa in Platis Yialos

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

In certain lights, it’s hard to tell where the pool ends and the sea begins at the coastal Petasos Beach Resort, which sits on a private peninsula between Platis Gialos and Psarou Beach. Besides views that will make you swoon, this minimalist-chic resort features sleek rooms decked out in white, teal, and hints of pastel. The classic and standard rooms feature plenty of natural light and mod cons, but it is the outdoor jacuzzi classic room that really takes the biscuit. You don’t need us to explain that one, surely? The views from the jacuzzi (a double, for the record) are delightful. No matter which room you go for at Petasos, the sounds of the sea will help pull you into a truly restorative sleep.

If you’ve got a bigger budget than expected, the three villas are spectacular. The Roof Top Villa lives up to its billing, with a bird’s eye view of the waters and an undeniable sense of elegance permeating throughout. The Prince Pool Villa spans two levels, offering ample space on both, along with a private seawater pool to cater to all your lounging needs. The resort’s latest development is the Galaxy Pool Villa, a huge space with three bedrooms (each of which has its own luxury en-suite), a large living room, and a kitchenette, should you choose to cook your own food. Throw in the rooftop with lounge sofas, sun umbrellas, and an infinity seawater pool with gorgeous views, and you’ve got something truly special.

There are two restaurants at the resort. Le Club serves modern Mediterranean in a romantic environment, while V.I.P. Restaurant offers international fusion cuisine with plenty of creativity infused in each bite. The Aqua Marine Spa is open for anyone after blissful relaxation, and there are also pool bars, boutiques, jacuzzis, meeting rooms, and more. No stone is left unturned at Petasos.

Time Out tip: If you’ve got the budget, the Galaxy Pool Villa is a must.

Address: Platis Yialos, Mykonos, 84600, Greece

Price: From approximately €186 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

10. Amyth Mykonos in Ágios Stéfanos

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

This laidback all-suite hideaway, a leisurely stroll from Agios Stefanos sandy beach, is perfect for a ‘no shoes, no news’ break. Combining rustic local décor with contemporary chic, 17 spacious suites (with private pools or hot tubs) are decked out in taupe, beige, and ochre, featuring open stone walls, handcrafted furnishings, plants in wicker pots, and vast bathrooms with tubs and chunky stone sinks. The Bohemia Comfort Room is plenty charming, but those with deeper pockets should absolutely consider one of the suites. The Amyth Sea View Pool Suite takes top billing and rightly so, with a stunning sunbathing terrace, outdoor gym, and more. It is a real home away from home in paradise.

When you’re hungry - or hungering to shop - there’s a restaurant serving Med fusion cuisine and a small boutique selling Greek designer jewellery. The Amyth Kouzina dining experience is one to savour, whether you are nipping in for the most important meal of the day or settling in for an evening meal that takes local produce and creates true magic. Amyth Kouzina is particularly excellent for vegans and vegetarians, with a wide range of gluten-free options available as well. The hotel’s bar is the perfect place to wind down at the end of the day, particularly if you enjoy an expertly mixed cocktail or three.

Just when you thought that things couldn’t get any more relaxing, Amyth Mykonos ups the ante with a wellness offer from the heavens. The treatments available are tailor-made to create a truly blissful feeling, although the deep tissue massage might not quite fit the “blissful” tag. You know what you’re getting yourself into when you go for a deep tissue massage, and this one doesn’t let the side down. There is also a fully equipped gym for getting your heart rate up.

Time Out tip: Turn your phone off and resist the temptation to check anything; this place is really all about serenity.

Address: Agios Stefanos, 84600, Mykonos, Greece

Price: From approximately €252 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

11. Nomad in Kalo Livadi

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

Tapping into the current hunger for a back-to-nature lifestyle, NOMAD abounds in soothingly pseudo-rustic décor: very spacious suites have massive stone sinks, beautifully polished driftwood furnishings, and gently swinging hammocks on vast sea-view terraces with their own pools or hot tubs. This self-described “Bohemian paradise” features just 14 suites, a small but perfectly formed resort designed to create peace of mind in paradise. The Honeymoon Suite comes with an outdoor hot tub and the perfect combination of natural light and privacy, while the Hideout Suite (with a private pool and a yard) focuses on the latter without skimping on the former. There are also twin suites, family options, and more.

Included in that “more” is the Cave Suite, a truly unique option on an island that can sometimes slip into a state of similitude. This might just be one of the most aesthetically impressive accommodation spots in Mykonos, a sumptuously designed space that conjures up feelings of curiosity and excitement, complete with a private pool (the waters of the pool flow from the “cave”), and all the other modern conveniences you’d expect from a high-quality luxury suite. If you are struggling to imagine an opulent cave, this is the suite for you.

Whether you sip handcrafted cocktails as you laze in a hammock by the bar or enjoy carefully sourced local dishes at Kukulu restaurant, you’re sure to get back in touch with your inner wild child at this holistic hideaway on the island’s sheltered southern coast, which is within easy strolling distance of Kalo Livadi’s pristine white sand beach. The KuKuLu restaurant is a celebration of local flavours, serving authentic island dishes in a charming setting that bridges the divide between healthy and hearty. That “Bohemian Paradise” moniker might not be too far off the mark.

Time Out tip: The Cave Suite is an experience to savour, whether you are enjoying a spot of island hopping or on a romantic trip to remember.

Address: Kalo Livadi, 846 00 Mykonos, Greece

Price: From approximately €331 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

Closest transport: Mykonos International Airport is a 20-minute drive away

12. Bill & Coo Coast Ágios Ioannis

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

A slice of coastal cool, with a discreet air and secluded location on 10 acres of grounds, Bill & Coo Coast is jet-set heaven. If you’re lucky enough to snag one of the 15 suites, you’re in for a treat: the decor is super-slick, with sea-facing balconies, soft grey-white colour schemes, Nespresso machines, iPads and Molton Brown cosmetics. Some suites come with hot tubs and pools, but all are spacious while retaining the intimacy that is integral to any Mykonos adventure. If you can’t imagine a luxury Greek island getaway without an infinity pool, the self-explanatory Bill&Coo Suite with Infinity Pool is the one for you. You wouldn’t be the first to consider locking yourself inside for all eternity (don’t do this).

It’s luxury all the way at Bill and Coo, with a pool overlooking the glassy sea, a private beach, spa treatments, and sumptuous breakfasts with fresh fruits, homemade bread and omelettes cooked to perfection. There’s a lot to be said for poolside dining, but make time for a more formal dinner experience at Yēvo, the resort’s on-site restaurant, helmed by executive chef Aggelos Bakopoulos. The kitchen team has created three gorgeous degustation menus that are a triumph of local traditions, flavours, and ingredients, serving up what it describes as a “culinary voyage through the Cyclades” and a “pilgrimage of the palate.” Each dish is aesthetically delightful, but the real magic comes in the taste. It has been voted one of the best restaurants in Greece, but that should almost go without saying.

Continuing the “best” theme, the Valmont Spa is an experience in itself, a haven of exquisite treatments that will have you feeling brand new. There are two large spa suites, each creating an atmosphere of tranquillity that is to be celebrated.

Time Out tip: The resort offers a range of experiences, from mixology masterclasses and Greek cooking classes to wine tasting, sunset horse riding, and more.

Address: Agios Ioannis, Mykonos 84600, Greece

Price: From approximately €481 per night based on two people sharing (breakfast included)

13. Cavo Tagoo

  • 4 out of 5 stars
  • Recommended

Accommodation in Mykonos that guarantees to leave you with zero complaints? The closest you'll get is Cavo Tagoo. It's the ultimate place to relax, day or night, and there are a ton of room options, including a deluxe villa with a heart-shaped pool – making it one of the most romantic hotels in Mykonos. The views from that romantic spot might just be the best on the island, which is a big claim but one that we’re happy to stand behind. The resort features a total of 83 rooms, suites, and villas, each gorgeously designed to enhance any stay in Mykonos. The Premium Rooms would pass for upscale options anywhere else, while the cave pool suite and villa both offer exactly what the name suggests: a private pool in a cave.

The pool area is a sight to behold; the sun beds sit above the water, looking out onto the horizon with easy access to the bar. This is just about as “Mykonos” as it gets - the dictionary definition of relaxation and a spectacular place to be as the sun sets over the horizon. The infinity pool holds up its end of the bargain, and the colourful cocktails are as delicious and refreshing as they are aesthetically charming. The best time to sip those cocktails? Apologies for the repetition, but that’ll be while the sun is setting and internationally acclaimed DJs are doing their thing on the decks.

If you like your food with a side of theatre and performance, the enchanting Meraki restaurant is the place to go. The food is delicious (think Greek-Mediterranean classics), although don’t take the use of the term “classics” to mean old-fashioned. These are the classics as you’ve never seen them before, playful and engaging and almost too stylish to eat.

Time Out tip: Dinner at Meraki is a must.

Address: Ormou Agiou Ioanni-Agiou Stefanou Str, Tagoo, Mykonos, 84600, Greece
