Time Out says

An alternative desert festival that celebrates the art and music of Africa and Israel.

With international stars headlining concerts in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem all summer long, the music of Israel can sometimes seem mainstream. However, for a weekend concert that is far from conventional, pack your desert gear and head to the Negev for the Mama Africa-Israel Festival. Held at the Me’ever hostel, a creative space within the Mitzpe Ramon artist community, the weekend-long event is a fusion of African and Israeli music and art. The celebration includes diverse music from live performers and DJ’s, workshops, and art exhibits. Get out of your routine and share in a weekend of cultural richness on the doorstep of the desert, where creative ideas and nature fuse into one.
