Ironically formed in England in the 1970s, America’s dreamy sounds that have been sweeping the world for four decades are finally making it to the Holy Land.
The trio began with three sons of American military officers stationed in London, channeling their homesickness into a lovely folk rock sound that quickly captivated the hearts of millions. Their surreal, almost psychedelic, and emotionally touching lyrics were unique to the soft-rock genre, and “spoke in a universal language that raised the soul.” As they helped develop and redefine American folk, pioneering the rock-folk movement of the 70's, they also became one of few hugely successful transatlantic rock acts.
With hits including, Sister Golden Hair, Ventura Highway, Tin Man, Daisy Jane, and Lonely People, their name raced to the top of charts and won them a regular spot on every top rock band playlist. The remaining artists are staying loyal to their soft sound and even added elements of jazz and melodic pop in their more recent albums. Their nostalgic sounds nor their success have dimmed over the years, still gaining more and more fans of all ages across the world.
Fulfilling their promise to return after a cancelled show a few summers back, generations of Israeli fans eagerly await America’s first performance in Israel. Get swept away by America’s decades-old sweet and soulful vibes October 9th at the Caesarea Amphitheater. Tickets sales will open tomorrow (3/21) for NIS 219-484.
