Kfar Saba - Geek Out at the OSHICON Festival

Bringing comics, gaming, and anime together, the OSHICON Festival is a fun-filled event featuring it all - including superheroes! It is Israel's local answer to the famed International Comic-Con convention. At the entrance to the festival, guests will be able to battle in a 'fighting arena' with swords where participants can learn to wield swords like medieval knights or the characters from "Games of Thrones." If what you've always wanted to know is how to draw comics like the great artists, Eran Aviani, who wrote a 'How To' comic book guide, will teach you the basics right then and there. Another interesting and intriguing workshop taking place is by the popular Youtuber Aviel Basin, founder of the largest YouTube gaming channel in Israel "Spicycrap".
During the festival, participants will be able to visit the FUNKO POP figures exhibition, featuring vinyl dolls of cute little characters from hundreds of films, series, computer games, bands, politicians and from comic books and anime. There will also be an unusual stand-up comedy show at the festival tapping into super geeky topics from all the related genres.
A "Geeks Festival" can't take place without a gaming complex. In the massive venue, there will also be PlayStation 4 areas with the newest and most popular games such as Fortnight, FIFA and Apex Legends - all ready to be played. You want to enter a different world? Head to the Virtual Reality universe where you can wear a VR headset and become part of the game.
If you love to dress up in costumes from the worlds of manga, comics and superheroes, this is the perfect opportunity to don your wildest garb or favorite character and take part in a costume competition with prizes.
Along with all the activities, a merchandise area will be set up with a variety of products from the genres, in a variety of stands that will offer games, costumes, gaming equipment and electronics, comic books, anime and pop culture, collectible dolls, shirts and board games.
OSHICON, March 21-23, Thursday to Saturday. Open 10:00-20:00.
