Rembrandt Frerichs Triovisits Akbank Sanat tonight both as part of the Akbank Jazz Festival and the series of events celebrating the 400th year of Turkish-Dutch diplomatic relations. While the trio is largely influenced by American jazz tradition as well as philosophy and Arabic music, tonight they will be paying their respects to John Coltrane, the legendary jazz saxophonist and composer.
Frerich’s debut CD ‘Self Portrait’ was nominated for an Edison Award in 2007- the Dutch equivalent of the US Grammy Award.
