There’s a distinctly Anatolian vibe to this place that’s a tad disorienting, making you think you’ve left Istanbul for somewhere out east. The live Turkish, mostly sanat (art) music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings bolsters the impression, especially when one of the two rooms erupts in a rousing sing-along with the performers. At other times, the cosy and relaxed atmosphere draws regular customers who seem to shun all things flamboyant and fashionable.
