Don’t think sushi and tapas would go well together? Think again. Asmalımescit newcomer Cheers Pera combines the two most popular shareable options with finesse. Chef Bora Bozankaya uses local ingredients in his tapas: the mussels come from Amasra, the tulum cheese from Bergama, the goat cheese from Gökçeada and the pastrami from Kastamonu. Our favorite among the tapas is the rustic bread from Afyon Sandıklı topped with fresh herbs, paprika, buttery potatoes and strained yogurt. The sushi menu, on the other hand, was put together by the same people behind Ninja Restaurant. Cheers Pera also offers main courses and Spanish pizzas (called “coca”), which have thinner and crispier crusts than the Italian variety.
