The Loving Hut

Venture a bit further afield from Beyoğlu and your taste buds will be rewarded with the delights of The Loving Hut. This tiny, totally vegetarian café next to the main Beşiktaş market area serves up good-value meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What comes out of the small kitchen varies day to day, but generally includes a selection of soups, salads and falafel or quiche for main dishes. The veggie burger was excellent value at 6.50 TL and came in a whole-wheat bun with salad inside, served by a friendly waitress with a real interest in vegetarianism. Extra-virgin olive oil, pomegranate molasses and gifts are also available for sale. With the local Beşiktaş hamam (Turkish bath) directly next door, a visit to The Loving Hut could round off a nice Saturday afternoon of healthy pampering. No alcohol.
