Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa's restaurant, Amuse-Bouche, is known for crafting flavoursome meals paired with exquisite culinary artistry.
The fine dining restaurant serves wood-fired pizza, high tea, Asian and sushi in a warm indoor ambience.
This August, the restaurant scooped the 2025 Gastronomy Tourism Award in the Fine and Casual Dining category.
Speaking about the award, Lorna Gourlay told Time Out: "We're proud and grateful to be recognised. It’s a reflection of our team's hard work and commitment to great food and service."
The restaurant, which offers 'leisurely high teas in the gardens and luxury picnics under the African sky', says what sets it apart from other fine dining restaurants in South Africa is the personal service.
"Fairlawns offers a unique mix of fine dining, personal service, and a peaceful setting. We focus on quality, creativity, and giving our guests a memorable experience," the restaurant told Time Out Johannesburg.
"If you’ve never been to our restaurant, the one dish you absolutely must try is our Pasta from the Rocks — it's our guests' favourite here at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa," says executive chef Gareth Jordaan.
The chef adds: "Not only is it a guest favourite, but it’s also our unique take on the flavour, presentation, and indulgence that truly captures the essence of our culinary philosophy."
Lastly, the restaurant says it will unveil a new dish to celebrate the win.
"To celebrate this exciting win, we’re thrilled to announce that we are currently working on our summer menu and are thrilled to introduce a few new specials that highlight the creativity and passion of our kitchen team. We also pride ourselves on our Alice in Wonderland tea offering and will be working on how we can elevate this experience."
