One of Joburg's favourite seafood restaurants, Ocean Basket, adds new flavours

The seafood restaurant, known for its innovative flavours, has once again spiced up its offering. 

Grace Harding, CEO of Ocean Basket, revealed the news at the 2025 MANCOSA Jacaranda FM Business Breakfast, which was held in Midrand on October 1.

The new flavours are:

Lemon Chilli Salt – a mix of sea salt, chilli pepper, lemon, citric acid, and a touch of anti-caking.

Garlic Salt – a savoury blend of sea salt, garlic, onion, and black pepper.

Whether you’re sprinkling Lemon Chilli Salt over hake or calamari or adding Garlic Salt to fries, salads, or prawns, these new blends promise to elevate every bite.

Reel Love Platter

Platters are great for sharing and offer real value for money. This classic platter comes loaded with fish, prawns, panko, calamari, chips, and rice — there’s definitely plenty to enjoy.

High Tide and Soda

Another much-loved favourite, the High Tide dish includes fish, prawns, mussels, calamari, chips, rice, and soda. Get ready to indulge in bold flavours.

For something different, why not try a burger with a twist of the ocean?

30th birthday 

Ocean Basket marked its 30th birthday with a brand-new menu that featured signature dishes.

To celebrate the milestone, the restaurant introduced exciting promotions such as the R30 full-portion famous hake & chips meal and the popular Kids-Eat-Free Mondays.
