The Ndlovu Youth Choir holds a special place in the hearts of South Africans, with their global success flying the flag high for all in Mzansi.
Fresh off an appearance at the 2026 World Cup Opening Ceremony in North America, the choir is heading back to Johannesburg for concerts at Montecasino’s Teatro in Fourways.
There will be six shows in total at the Teatro:
- Thursday, 30 July at 19h30
- Friday, 31 July at 19h30
- Saturday, 01 August at 15h00 and 19h30
- Sunday, 02 August at 14h00 and 18h00
How to enter
To celebrate their return to Jozi, we've got two pairs of tickets to give away for the 30 July show.
All you need to do is follow us on social media and tag who you'd like to take with you under the competition posts on Time Out Johannesburg's Facebook here and/or Instagram here.
The competition is only open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Please note that the prize is for tickets to attend the Ndlovu Youth Choir show only - no transport, accommodation or other perks outside of the tickets will be provided. Tickets may not be exchanged for cash or for an alternate performance or price category. Tickets are not transferable and may not be sold. The competition will close at 10am on Tuesday, 28 July 2026. Ndlovu Youth Choir on tour
The Ndlovu Youth Choir’s national tours have sold out every year since 2021, with fans old and new loving the rich, varied repertoire the choir has built up over the years.
This year, founder and conductor Ralf Schmitt has focused on the spectacular diversity of South African genres and musical traditions - so expect a show packed with local favour alongside international hits.
“We’re so looking forward to bringing our shows first to Johannesburg and our fantastic audience there who have also supported us so generously, and then to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time, mixing it up with thousands of other artists and becoming part of such a rich tradition there,” says Schmitt.
