Joburg, get your drip ready! This Friday, 31 October, YoungstaCPT and Reebok South Africa are bringing serious Cape Town heat to the city with the official launch of the Oh-Two-1, a bold, limited-edition sneaker inspired by the 021, the area code of the Mother City.

The drop goes down at Sneaker District, Melrose Arch, where fans can grab a pair of these collectable kicks and celebrate one of the biggest local sneaker collabs in Reebok’s history. Expect exclusive merch, behind-the-scenes content, and the rapper himself pulling up to meet fans.

The story behind the sneaker

More than just a sneaker, the Oh-Two-1 is a mixtape in motion, and every detail tells a story. Designed by YoungstaCPT and illustrated by Capetonian Ross Solomon, the shoe fuses nostalgia, hustle, and homegrown pride.

Built on Reebok’s classic Pump OmniZone silhouette, it features hand-sketched spray cans, cassette tapes, Metrorail trains, Gatsby sandwiches and arcade buttons — a full Cape Flats remix stitched into leather and sole.

“This collab for me is about legacy,” says YoungstaCPT. “Reebok has always been that brand for my people, for everyone who built something out of nothing.”

A legacy drop

The Oh-Two-1 marks the third local signature sneaker in Reebok’s Pure Mzansi Gold series, following in the footsteps of the late great AKA. With only 500 pairs available, each signed, numbered, and boxed with custom artwork and sticker sheets inspired by Youngsta’s mixtapes, this is a collector's item.

The drop event: Joburg edition

The Oh-Two-1 officially drops nationwide this Friday at select stores, including Sportscene, Studio88, Shelflife, Y?Gen, and Reebok Canal Walk, but Joburg gets the spotlight at Sneaker District, Melrose Arch.

Expect music, street culture, and a live energy that only YoungstaCPT can bring. Whether you’re there to cop a pair or just soak in the vibe, this is one drop you don’t want to sleep on.
