It's fairly safe to say that not everybody enjoys the prospect of Christmas shopping. The frantic bustle of busy shoppers has the potential even more traumatising when you factor in the Black Friday crowd, who hunger for a bargain and will do almost anything to get it.
From Friday November 27 until December 11, The Light shopping centre is introducing a way for weary shoppers to escape the crowds, courtesy of its 'City Centre Rescue Squad', who will whisk you away to an Alpine style lodge filled with grown-up treats. Yes, that means booze and music.
If you fancy escaping to this festive retreat, all you need to do is tweet @thelightleeds, using the hashtag #ChristmasRescueSquad and you could find yourself (and your shopping bags) transported by rickshaw to this special winter hideaway in the centre's courtyard.
Inside will be a chill out bar serving warming winter drinks from 11am, with stronger tipples available from 4pm. Plus, there will be live musical entertainment every day, which will include Christmas choirs, brass bands and even opera performances.
