Foodies in Leeds will soon have a fresh selection of culinary choices, courtesy of a number of new restaurants opening their doors across the city centre in the near future. Here are four places you'll be able to check out soon:

Itsu

With dozens of shops and a handful of dining venues dotted around London, sushi restaurant and health food store Itsu is soon to open an outlet in Leeds too.

Occupying what was the Barratts shoe shop on Commercial Street, the chain will offer a tasty range of sushi and salad snacks, drink and more for the calorie conscious.

Nourish

Continuing the healthy eating vibe is Nourish, a fast food store with a focus on nutrition and fresh ingredients rather than preservative-laden and processed foods.

Opening on Bond Street in July (next door to Pret A Manger) , Nourish will offer a range of energy-boosting breakfasts, healthy salads, wraps and smoothies, as well as catering for vegan and vegetarian diets.

If the original Nourish store in Sheffield is anything to go by, Nourish will also offer a delivery and meal-plan service too, making it ideal for those who value the importance of nutrition but are short on time.

Gusto

Following the success of its first Leeds restaurant in Cookridge, Italian restaurant Gusto will be opening its city centre 'grand cafe' at the start of July.

Occupying the building which was previously Henry's Cafe Bar on Greek Street, Gusto will be offering sophisticated and high quality food and cocktails.

The restaurant is already taking reservations for its opening week if you want to be one of the first pass judgement on what it can offer.

Marco's New York Italian

He may have been born in Leeds, and have ten other New York Italian restaurants already spread across the country, but it will be the end of 2016 before the world famous chef establishes his first eatery in the city.

The latest addition to his franchise will be at the Merrion Centre, on the ground floor of the site of the former Merrion Hotel. It promises a menu that will reflect Marco's Italian heritage, along with his love of American food.

While you wait on these new venues to open, take a look at these Leeds restaurants you just have to try.
