If you like graphic novels, comics and animation then this year's Thought Bubble festival is the place to meet your illustration idols and discover much more about this important cultural art form.

Taking place until November 15, the festival has organised a whole week's worth of events, and concludes with a comic convention on November 14-15.

Thought Bubble kicked off on November 9, but there are still a huge range of activities for you to take part in, at nine different venues across Leeds. This includes exhibitions, workshops, conference talks and competitions.

For example, you could enter a script competition to win paid work at publishers 2000 AD, get tips on designing your own comic character from Marvel and DC Comics artist Gary Erksine, or get your can collection signed by Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels and Tula Lotay.

Take a look at the programme to see what else is in store.

The headline event for Thought Bubble festival is the two day convention at New Dock Hall. Not just an opportunity for cosplayers, there will be expert panel discussions and live sketching demonstrations, new book reveals and an afternoon of animation screenings.

Plus, of course, there'll be a host of comic creators and retailers where you can meet some of your favourite comic artists or pick up new comics, books and merchandise.
