Last month it was revealed that BBC Radio 1Xtra will be bringing its flagship event – 1Xtra Live – to the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Saturday October 17.

Previously a series of gigs hosted at four different locations across the country, the event changed to a one night, one venue format in 2014 and regularly features some of the best UK and international hip hop, R&B and grime artists. In the past, the 1Xtra Live event has seen performances from Rick Ross, Mary J Blige, Clean Bandit, Fuse ODG and Sigma.

Earlier in September, some of the artists for the Leeds show were revealed, with rapper Lethal Bizzle and hip hop duo Krept and Konan returning after their turn at 1Xtra Live in Birmingham last year.

They will be joined by Flo Rida, R&B singer songwriter Miguel, Dutch artist Natalie La Rose, grime MC Stormzy and rapper Kid Ink. Further acts will be revealed soon.

On the run-up to the event, BBC Radio 1Xtra also revealed a month-long outreach programme of activities for young people in Leeds and Bradford.

Running from September 15 until October 17, this will include Q&A sessions with 1Xtra DJs (such as Trevor Nelson and Charlie Sloth), a mixing masterclass from DJ Semtex and open studio sessions where people can sign up to use the BBC facilities.

You can find out more about 1Xtra Live: The Sessions on the website.
