Leeds is comic book central. The city has three shops – OK Comics, Travelling Man and Forbidden Planet – and teems with comic book artists, including Elephantman creator Richard Starkings. It was the venue of the British Comic Awards in 2014 and, most notably, hosts one of the country's best comic book events: Thought Bubble.

The brainchild of artist Lisa Wood, who pens Supreme Blue Rose with Warren Ellis and Bodies for DC's Vertigo imprint, Thought Bubble is the UK's largest annual week-long arts festival and culminates in a two-day comic convention.

This year, the festival runs from November 9-15 with its big event – the one comic book fanatics go all cosplay for, dressing up as Sinestro, Green Lantern's girlfriend and other mad-haired, skimpy-outfit wearing characters – taking place on November 14-15 at New Dock Hall.

To celebrate Leeds' heady standing in the UK comic-book stakes, The City Talking have joined forces with Thought Bubble, Travelling Man, Leeds Inspired and TONE to deliver this mini-film about the festival and Leeds' comic book scene. Enjoy.
