Kicking off this Thursday, the very first Leeds Indie Food Festival starts a month long celebration of great nosh in the city, taking in the more established Leeds Food and Drink Festival at the same time.

Anyone who likes to eat and who likes to drink - and let's face it, that's just about everyone - can find something to tantalise the taste buds and pleasure the palette as venues both large and small, street food traders, chefs and brewers come together to provide not only a feast for the tummy but one for the mind as well, as workshops and events make the festival about more than just stuffing your faces.

Highlights include a mini Gin festival, a celebration of vegetarian food for National Vegetarian Week, Mama's Girls' Polish Milk Bar, an opportunity to taste the future and the closing feast party at The Tetley.

Sound enticing? Festival passes are available for just £15 giving access to some of the more exclusive events.

Get the full lowdown of the opportunities to chow down at the Leeds Indie Food Festival website.
