La vida breve & Gianni Schicchi

A double bill presentation by Opera North of two shorter and perhaps less well-known operas, de Falla’s ‘La vida breve’ and Puccini’s ‘Gianni Schicchi’.

This is a great chance to see Christopher Alden’s acclaimed production of ‘La vida breve’, a dark and tragic tale of love and betrayal set in Granada, which hasn’t been played in the UK since 2004.

The second performance is a new production of Puccini’s satyr play; a comedy staged around the deathbed of a wealthy aristocrat, and the perfect antidote to its angst-ridden predecessor.
