Once you step through the wooden doors of The Philharmonic Dining Rooms, you'll also realise that you've walked through a time portal and into a functioning Victorian pub because, well, you have. Replete with wood panelling, leather sofas, stained glass windows and chandeliers, it doesn't get more quintessentially British than the fact that this spot is famous for its pies - steak and pale ale, chicken and mushroom, mushroom, red wine and tarragon suet, you name it, they have it. The ever-changing cask ales mean there's always a new pour to try. The Victorians knew how to have a good time.
