Time Out says

The 20th arondissement’s most colourful hotel boasts a pizzeria and a fun rooftop bar

Mama Shelter Paris East was the chain’s first venue in the city. The boutique-y hotels have made names for themselves across Europe with OTT decor, colouful furnishings and a well-won reputation for fun. The eastern outpost boasts a very vibey (and photogenic) rooftop bar, offering a great selection of drinks, ping pong and barbecue dishes.

Obviously, the location in the 20th is a big boon for anyone looking to explore the artier, more informal side to Parisian hospitality. If nightlife is your thing, then the area’s distinctly bohemian bars and restaurants will provide no end of fun. Not to mention, for the daylight hours, the world-famous Père Lachaise cemetery (the final resting place of Edif Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and thousands more) is just a few minutes away.

The 170 rooms are cheerful, comfortable and sort-of 1970s themed, with smart TVs and surprisingly posh bedding as standard.
