The first solo exhibition from Argentinian artist Mercedes Azpilicueta touches down at CentroCentro. French curator Virginie Bobin presents this exhibition of Azpilicueta's work made up of diverse and varied characters living in perfectly harmonious chaos. A bad mom, a teacher from the future, fallen angels, figures from literature and art history, and artists who have served as inspiration to Azpilicueta, among many others, are the protagonists of Bestiary of Tonguelets ('Bestiario de Lengüitas' in Spanish). The exhibition follows the thread of a hypothetical performance in which each of these characters plays a role that's as fundamental as it is erratic. Via films, drawings, sculptures, tapestries and soundtracks, these protagonists reveal to us what the performance that never happens is to be.
