La Libre (CLOSED)

This lovely spot in Lavapiés stands on a small corner on C/Argumosa, and its few tables with comfortable chairs and a sofa or two are usually occupied by customers immersed in reading from the selection of second-hand books on the shelves of this café-bookshop. Tapas, toast with toppings, breakfast options... it's a perfect spot to snack on something or start your day with breakfast, and in summer the small terrace is one of the most sought-after on the street. They also host cultural programmes with workshops, concerts and book presentations.
